2014 is almost here and I would like to wish each and every one of you a wonderful New Year with my new card! The sweet digital stamp is Partying Little Girl from Milk N Coffee Digital Stamps, she is just so adorable and was released TODAY! The numbers are designed and created by me, cut out by Silhouette Portrait. And there are lots of photos below as, once again, did something new today.
So what’s NEW?
I put the background with the digital image together adding “Happy New Year!” as well and printed everything together. Then, as my usual routine, I also outlined the digital images in Silhouette Studio software and had my Silhouette cutter complete the intricate cuts — please check out my very first tutorial on how to use digital images. On the background image, I colored everything grey with C5 to give a good shadow effect to the image that went on top.
Once the cut out was complete I started to color the main image, which is always the most fun! I color the images with Copic Markers (list of markers below plus the final photo) spending a lot of attention to details and quality. Once coloring is complete, I highlight some parts with Fiskars glitter gel pens or glitter glue to add a little extra glow, which looks beautiful in natural light. I created the numbers to resemble ornaments hanging from above, cut each number out 6 times and glued together so they are more durable. Once complete, both little party girl and the numbers got placed on foam squares to give a little 3D effect.
I used DCWV’s Holiday Glitzy Glitter cardstocks, absolutely beautiful paper! If you live in the USA, please stop at your local Michael’s Stores — incredible amount of Christmas craft goodies!
