Elizabeth Craft Designs — Designers’ Challenge: White Beauty (full tutorial)

Good morning, friends!

I have a sweet surprise to show you today! It is time for our Elizabeth Craft Designs Designers’ Challenge and we’re all creating something white! Please remember to visit Elizabeth Craft Designs blog on April 30th as the other wonderful designers’ work will be showcased as well.

As you might already know, Elizabeth Craft Designs new Peel-off Stickers are designed to work with the die sets. When I received the new Flowers Labels Peel-off Stickers, I know right away that I had to make a card and happy to share the steps, took lots of photos this time around.

EDHMC_ECD_4_30_14

1. Bring out your Flowers Labels Peel-off stickers, double sided adhesive, white cover stock and patterned paper

2. Peel off the release sheet of your double sided adhesive and attach the adhesive side to the white cardstock

3. Place the release sheet on your work surface and place your Peel-off sticker flowers upside down on the release sheet (sticky side up)

4. Place the adhesive side of the double-sided adhesive and card stock combination onto the release sheet

DSCF2721_2

5. Add Warm Diamond Silk Microfine Glitter onto the adhesive side of our combined layer

6. Shake off the extra glitter and simply use our fingers to polish the surface, which allows the glitter to stick and remain on the double-sided adhesive

DSCF2727_2

7. Use your craft scissors and fussy cut around the glittered flower pieces, leaves and dots

8. Cut out “Thinking Of You” from the extra glittered paper

DSCF2748_2

9. Cut a 6″ high x 11″ wide cardstock and adhere the patterned paper on top, score at 5.5″

DSCF2749_2

10. Place the Katie Label Pivot Card die cut over the score line and die cut the card base

Lisbeth Good Night

EDHMC_MNC_Lisbeth_Night_4_14_14

I think Lisbeth is one of my all-time favorite little characters from Milk N Coffee and here’s a sweet image very close to my heart: Lisbeth Good Night. These adorable images are drawn so beautifully, they’re so fun to color! And this little dreaming girl is going air mail to a happy recipient.

I created this sweet card using the Katie Label Pivot Card die set, as the card base, and the Agatha Edges die set, both by the Elizabeth Craft Designs and Karen Burniston. These die sets are amazing, they line and cut perfectly each and every time! And they’re made in the USA.

My cardstock I used is Authentique  6×6 Seasons Essentials, Seasons: Winter — also product of the USA and archival safe.

Thank you for stopping by my blog!

Have a wonderful weekend, hugs, Rita

Hydrangea for Lovely Tags

Good morning, friends!

Today is my fun day with Elizabeth Craft Designs Design Team and have created something new I’d love to share with you!

Last time we created a sweet “Thank You” card with Elizabeth Craft Designs hydrangea peel-off stickers and today it is time to create the matching  “Thank You” tag. Since I’m almost always looking for a tag for birthday presents, I’d like to create a matching “Happy Birthday” tag as well. Make yourself a nice cup of coffee, sit back and we shall get started. And yes, I have my cup of coffee sitting here as well, best way to start our days.

DSCF2710_2

1. Bring out your Hydrangea Peel-off stickers, double sided adhesive, Amethyst Gemstone, Green Metallic, Gold Metallic and Silver Metallic Shimmer Sheetz

2. Peel off the release sheet of your double sided adhesive and attach the adhesive side to the Amethyst Gemstone Shimmer Sheetz

3. Place the release sheet on your work surface and place your Peel-off sticker flowers upside down on the release sheet (sticky side up)

4. Place the adhesive side of the double-sided adhesive and shimmer sheetz combination onto the release sheet

5. Add Warm Diamond Silk Microfine Glitter onto the adhesive side of our combined layer

6. Shake off the extra glitter and simply use our fingers to polish the surface, which allows the glitter to stick and remain on the double-sided adhesive

7. Use your craft scissors and cut around the glittered flower pieces

8. Place the Peel-off sticker leaves upside down on your work surface (sticky side up)

9. Place the Green Metallic Shimmer Sheetz over the leaves

10. Use your craft scissors and cut around the leaves

11. Use your Copic markers to make the purple colors of the flowers turn darker

DSCF2683_2

12. Die cut your Gold Metallic and your Silver Metallic Shimmer Sheetz with the largest of the Tags die set

13. Use your Lots of Dots and Swirly Curves embossing folders with the tags

DSCF2688_2

14. Die cut “Happy Birthday” and “Thank You”

15. Assemble your tags and add some ribbon to each and voila, we’re done!

Something NEW again today: it is launch time at All Dressed Up, and we have four fantastic images for you for this months launch!

Easter Bunny

Just So Cool

Little Flower Girl

 On My Farm

They are just sooooo great! And to purchase any of the images please head on over to the Etsy Shop.

Did I make a card? Of course I did! For my design, I chose On My Farm and had so much fun!

EDHMC_ADU_On_My_Farm_All

Let’s see how:

1. Since I knew that I wanted to do a pop up card to have a Spring feel, I started with my papers: Fancy Pants Parkbench is one of my absolute favorites right now!

2. Next I picked one of my favorite dies sets by Elizabeth Craft Designs and Karen Burniston is the Lucy Label Pop Up die set. I say this so many times but will say again (and again and again) that these die sets are amazing! Everything lines up, everything cuts and looks perfect, couldn’t have asked for better! And they’re made in the USA!

3. I cut a 6″ x 12″ clear acetate sheet, scored at 6″ and only glued my 6″ x 6″ Fancy Pants paper sheets partially: the top was glued on the top and bottom was only glued at the bottom of the acetate base. Then I die cut with the Lucy Label die set at the 6″ fold mark.

4. And here comes the little trick: I cut the Fancy Pants paper sheets at the pop up section so it’s really only the acetate base that pops out. The cut out pieces I was able to glue back somewhat seamlessly as now I glued the entire 6″ x 6″ pieces onto the acetate base. Photo’s below to show a side view.

5. Using a 6″ x 12″ craft paper base, I printed the sentiment on the front of the card. Then attached the inside to the craft paper, which is my outside.

6. Using Adobe PhotoShop, I separated the elements of my digital image so now I have individual elements including a fence that I drew extra panels for.

7. Now I could add all these separated elements into my Silhouette Studio Designer edition and outline each element so my Silhouette Cutter could make the intricate cuts.

8. Once again, I went back to my absolute favorite die sets: Elizabeth Craft Designs and Karen Burniston! Used All Seasons Tree making the cloud die set to cut out my little white clouds, tree sections and my little Moo!, Oink! and baa! words — oh so much fun! Used the same die set to cut out my trees as well for the backgrounds.

9 . Two more die sets from Elizabeth Craft Designs and Karen Burniston: grass using Garden Bench die set and little room for sentiment using the Agatha Edges.

10. Favorite part of all crafting: coloring with Copic markers!

11. Once everything was cut out, printed, colored and all, it was just time to assemble.

I honestly had a ton of fun creating this card and never even know where the time went, just saw 4 o’clock in the morning (I know, I’m crazy) roll around so had to get some sleep…

Please remember that our current theme is Spring at All Dressed Up and these images will be perfect for the challenge theme, plus you are in with a chance of winning 3 images of your choice! Also don’t forget to stop by our Facebook Group to share your All Dressed Up creations & chat to fellow crafters. And please keep an eye out for more inspiration from the rest of The Dressy Girls throughout the month.

Thank You with Lovely Hydrangea

EDHMC_ECD1_4_8_14

Good morning, friends!

I would like to share my Elizabeth Craft Designs Design Team card today: Thank You with Lovely Hydrangea! Yes, You! Thank you for being here reading my notes and always responding with kind and sweet comments!

Shall we get started with our new card? I have lots of photos to share today and the supply list is at the end with all the links you’ll need.

1. We’re starting out with the Hydrangea peel-off stickers, double sided adhesive, Amethyst Gemstone and Green Metallic shimmer sheetz.

DSCF2437_2

2. Let’s first peel the release sheet of our double-sided adhesive, keep this for our next step and attached the adhesive side to our Amethyst Gemstone shimmer sheetz.

3.  Now we can use the release sheet we just saved and as we take each of the peel off stickers, we can place each one with sticky side up — this helps us position each of the peel off sticker apart from each other yet not worrying about the shapes.

DSCF2443_2

4. Once we have all our stickers sticky side up, we can place the double-sided-shimmer sheetz over it, just like this image shows.

DSCF2445_2

5. Oh, did I mention we’re going to use glitter? Of course we are! That’s one of my favorite part! So let’s bring out our Warm Diamond silk microfine glitter and add to adhesive side of our combined layers. After we added the glitter, we can shake off the extra and simply use our fingers to rub the surface, which allows the glitter to stick and remain looking so gorgeous, just like this image shows:

DSCF2446_2

6. And yes, it’s time to pull out our crafting scissors and cut around each glittered up flower piece.

7. You might be wondering why we started out with 2 shimmer sheetz and yes, you’re correct, we’ll be using the Green Metallic shimmer sheetz for our leaves. I’d like to share a trick —- thanks to my lovely design team friends I now know too —- for die cutting shimmer sheetz: need to use the metal adaptor plate so every die cut comes out perfectly!

DSCF2461_2

8. Using our Accordion Circle Card die set, it’s time cut out the card base premium card stock and also another set using one more Shimmer Sheetz: Imperial Garnet Gemstone. Using a regular blade we can simply cut out the inner circle from my shimmer sheetz and use a smaller circle to make yet another die cut. Since we have so many gorgeous leaves already, I think it’s best to use the curvy leaves embossing folder and what can I say? I think I sat over this card base admiring it for minutes! Just gorgeous really!

DSCF2469_2

9. I use Tombow multi-use liquid glue for everything I need to glue and it works very nicely here adding the shimmer sheetz leaves to the shimmer sheetz circles and card base.

10. Once the leaves are on, we can add two scalloped circle card stock die cuts to the middle of each circle and add more leaves on top — I like the layered and dimensional look. Now we can add our lovely little flowers too, some glued directly on top of the leaves, some added with tiny foam squares to further achieve our dimensional look.

11. Using the left over piece from our earlier layered, glittered shimmer sheetz, we can also use the “Thank You” die set , add to our card and now we are done! How gorgeous is this card! I hope you enjoy making it as much as I did.

Would you like to know two little fun facts about this card? Fact#1: I created 22 little flowers without even knowing and 22 is my lucky number! Fact#2: this is probably my very first card I didn’t use any of my Copic markers creating it, no coloring whatsoever and I love this card so much!

As always, please leave your comments and / or questions in your comments, I’ll respond to each note, hugs, Rita

EDHMC_KC_Wimsy_4_2_13

Hi Friends!

Something fun today: it’s time for the Kit and Clowder April challenge! Every month we will be doing a fun new challenge over on the Kit and Clowder website where you can win a prize from one of our amazing sponsors: the April Challenge is starting today!

Our fabulous challenge sponsor this month is Whimsy Stamps!

Whimsy Stamps also sponsors the Kit and Clowder website and have generously donated a $15 gift certificate to the winner of this challenge! You do not need to use a whimsy stamps image to participate but there are some fabulous images over in the store to inspire you.

This month we would love to see your Blue Creations! What should be blue? It can be any part of your project, would love to see your coloring or your papers or embellishments, entirely up to you! Our design team has created some fabulous inspiration this month and have even listed what colors we have used in the mediums to create some beautiful blue hues. The challenge will remain open until the first Saturday of the next month. Hope to see you all playing along!

And you already know that I created a card as well, of course I did! Would you like to see how? Of course, you would!

I used Babe at the Beach digital image, who actually reminds me of my little girl when we first started going to the ocean, carrying her little bucket and shovel, ready for the sand and the waves. Of course, life is better at the beach!

1. Using Silhouette Studio, I outlined my cute little girl and had my Silhouette Portrait make the perfect cut around her.

2. Colored her with Copic markers, which is always sooooo much fun! Skin: E000, E00, E11, E21 and E04. Hair: E 42, E43, E74, E49. Hat and swimsuit: B000, B00, B01, B02, B05 and B18. Bucket and shovel: R22, R24, R29, R46 and R59. I also cut out some sailboats and other elements and colored them all with the same Copic colors.

DSCF2419_2

3. Using Momenta card stock paper, I had created an overall 6″ wide x 12″ tall composition, scored at 6″ and used one of my favorite die sets, Lucy Label Pop Up cutting die set by Elizabeth Craft Designs and Karen Burniston — perfect cut each and every time! And these awesome cutting dies are Made in the USA!

4. Have you seen Elizabeth Craft Designs’ shimmer sheetz? Oh, I hope you try them! I don’t believe that pictures do justice to the true beauty of the Turquoise Gemstone color I used!  I cut the waves, the sailboat parts and even the sentiment using Silhouette Portrait on double-cut setting —- the most flawless and absolutely perfect cuts I’ve ever seen!

5. Once all cuts, colors, trims and everything are done, assembly can start. Most elements are sitting on 3D foam squares to add additional dimension to everything. The papers I used were 6 x 6 Glitz paper pack: Uncharted Waters by Traci Smith and Momenta Cardstock

And here’s our finished card — Sandy toes and salty kisses!  Hugs, Rita

EDHMC_MNC_Charlotte_Airplane

Hello friends!

New showcase today at Milk N Coffee — the theme is Vehicles! Please come over and check out our wonderful design team’s work!

I used the super sweet Charlotte on her paper airplane digital image with lots and lots of wonderful Elizabeth Craft Designs and Karen Burniston die sets. As we travel the world with Charlotte, of course we all wish for our sweet friends, so yes, I wish you were here!

The moment I saw this sweet Charlotte on her Air Force airplane, I knew I had to do something super fun so let’s see just what I did.

1. First of all, outlined the digital image in Silhouette Studio and let me Silhouette Portrait cut out the little details.

2. Using Elizabeth Craft Designs and Karen Burniston Lots of Pops die set, I created 2 side by side cuts on my 6 x 12 cloudy cover stock as I needed to create a solid platform that could support my trees.

3. Using Farm House Paper Company’s Fair Skies card stock, I cut out several trees, clouds, leaves and flowers with Karen Burniston and Elizabeth Craft Designs’ All Seasons die set. I also used Elizabeth Craft Designs’ curvy leaves and the little grass die from the Garden Bench die set. And used the same card stock to cut out some postcards to add to the card base.

DSCF2387_2

DSCF2393_2

4. Once everything was cut out, assembly could start and this is how my fun Wish you were here! card was created. Plus, I had saved a tiny little postcard that I placed on the back and stuck my logo on it.

Please remember that I’m always happy to create something unique for you! There are really just endless possibilities!

I hope to see your cards soon and please ask me any questions! Hugs, Rita

Thinking of you

EDHMC_ADU_Little_Autumn_Girls

ADU Badge-Bell ADU Badge-RitaSomething new and exciting again today! Today is my first post with All Dressed Up Stamps Design Team. And I got my own little badge! Actually, it gets even better! Since my daughter loves All Dressed Up so much, she got a badge too! Have I mentioned how much I love kind-hearted good people? Thank you!

And it is new challenge time at All Dressed Up with our theme for this challenge: Monochrome! So simply pick a color and use its different variations.

This challenge will run until April 15th so head on over to All Dressed up blog to check out the rest of the teams creations, and why not enter the challenge whilst you are there.  Please note: to enter the challenge here, you need to use an All Dressed Up image or paper. And please remember to stop by our Facebook Group to keep up to date with all the latest All Dressed Up news, and chat to fellow crafters.

How about my card? Oh, yes! Yes, I did create a card, of course! Hahaa

I used the Three Little Autumn Girls digital image — which is how I think of my fun friends I don’t get to see often. One of my favorite dies sets by Elizabeth Craft Designs and Karen Burniston is the Accordion Oval Card set and I finally got to use it! I say this so many times but will say again (and again and again) that these die sets are amazing! Everything lines up, everything cuts and looks perfect, couldn’t have asked for better! And they’re made in the USA!

How did I create this card?

I placed the little girls in my Silhouette Studio software, outlined and cut out the images by my Silhouette Portrait cutter.

Next I had to pick out the paper and somehow today it was a simple 2 minute process (instead of my usual hours) using Me & My Big Ideas Specialty card stock paper. I also used the same paper with Small DragonflySmall Butterfly and Thinking of You die cuts from Elizabeth Craft Designs.

Please remember that I am always happy to personalize my artwork with a name, a quote or a special message, endless options really. Also, colors are always customizable options, after all Copic Markers come in 358 different colors!

Please visit my Etsy Store and  Facebook Page for more ideas and colored images.

I am also posting more detailed photos below, please check them out too.

hugs, Rita
