July Elizabeth Craft Designs Designers’ Challenge

Hello there!

Today is the last day of the month, which means… yes, you guessed it right! It is our Designers’ Challenge at Elizabeth Craft Designs and we all created something with stand up helpers. And there’s a twist! Our design team was challenged to use stand up helpers in the traditional and a non-traditional way. (Please know that I’ll be listing supplies with links below.)

With all the wonderful new die sets, I tried to create just two different cards but somehow ended up with four different cards for today.

My very first card today is a clean and simple card using the new Christmas ornaments and the Merry Christmas Stand Up Helper. I think that this is a simple and fun card to create.

My next card also uses the same ornaments as the one above but this time my Stand Up Helper is used within the front of my card. I also added the beautiful Holly Border and Holly Flourish die sets decorated with red glitter dots.

My next card is created with the wonderful Stocking Solid and Overlay sets, decorated with glitter boarders and glitter dots. I also used the snowflakes die set to add a little interest to the bottom of the card.

RE_ECD_DT1_7_31_14

And my fourth – and favorite but don’t tell the other – card today also uses the stocking die solid and overlay sets. As before, I also used the Holly border die set with these sweet little glitter dots. Since I had stockings, I wanted to create a wooden fireplace feel with the burning fire where we can simply sit back, enjoy our loved ones company, sip some hot coco and just chat away the afternoon while it’s snowing outside.

I would like to thank you for stopping by my blog today and hope that you enjoyed these different cards today.
Hugs, Rita

Lisbeth By the Sea!

It is Thursday and there’s something new again with Milk N Coffee, our design team has created some beautiful projects with something Girlie. Girlie to me is fun by the ocean so of course, I had to include something nautical!

I would like to show you my new project with the super sweet Lisbeth Plays with Sail Boat.

Ever since I saw Graphic 45 gorgeous By the Sea collection and then SVG Cuts released their new Seaside design, I knew what I was going to make: LIGHTHOUSE! The gorgeous lighthouse is by SVG Cuts: Seaside SVG Kits and I used my new favorite cardstock Graphic 45 By The Sea Pad, 12 by 12-Inch. This lighthouse went all the way to Canada to my fun crafty friend, Stéphanie. Happy birthday, again! I’m so happy you love the lighthouse as much as I loved creating it.

And just for giggles, I added up all the elements for the lighthouse: 95 independent cut pieces. Plus the little girl, glitter dots, the rope and the sign make the overall number: 102 pieces! My record to date!

Please stop by Milk N Coffee Etsy Store to explore all the wonderful images. What can I say? They are really some of my all time favorites!

I also used some Glitter Dots today from the wonderful Elizabeth Craft Designs.

My coloring? I cannot thank Alyce, my friend and teacher enough — wonderful classes, coloring community, support, feedback and just awesome friendships along the journey! I honestly hope that you too will hop over to Kit & Clowder Coloring Community and sign up for the fantastic classes!

Merry Christmas with Elizabeth Craft Designs

Hello Friends,

I’m here on this beautiful Sunday morning. It’s been nice and sunny here in California and we enjoyed some spectacular fireworks this past weekend. My project for today is all about Christmas. Yes, you read my title correctly :-). I have been enjoying some Christmas spirit right in July with the NEW and so amazing die sets from Elizabeth Craft Designs (available mid-July). I made a Christmas card with matching gift tags.

This is how I created my card and tags:

1. Die cut 3 tags out of silver cardstock and 3 out of patterned paper.

2. Die cut 7 sprigs from Peridot Gemstone and 6 from Fire Opal Gemstone Shimmer Sheetz.

3. Die cut 6 sets of the new Ornament Set 3. We will use 3 for the tags and 3 for the card.

Here you can see all the die cut pieces for our three tags.

4. To create tags, adhere 2 die cut tags together and add Glitter Border Peel-off along the edges of the tag. Assemble ornaments and adhere as shown. Adhere sprigs and bows as shown.

DSCF3654_2

5. Add ribbons and your tags are complete.

DSCF3659_2

To create the card:

6. Cut card base at 8.5″ x 6″, scored at 4.25″.

7. Cut a piece of glitter cardstock at 4.25″ x 6″ and a second piece at 3.25″ x 6″. Adhere 2 pieces together leaving a 1″ line on the top.

8. Die cut Merry Christmas on the open 1″ space. Also die cut a Merry Christmas from purple glitter cardstock.

DSCF3633_2

9. Adhere glitter cardstock with Merry Christmas cut onto card base and insert purple Merry Christmas.

DSCF3634_2

10. Adhere sprigs and ornaments (cut in step 2 and 3) as shown.

You can see that the tags match perfect with the card.
