Elizabeth Craft Designs – August Designers’ Challenge: Asian Theme

Hello Crafty Friends,

Today is the last day of August and that means it is our Designers’ Challenge at Elizabeth Craft Designs. Our design team was asked to create projects with an Asian theme using the wonderful Elizabeth Craft Designs dies and peel-off stickers.

My own personal challenge was to create projects that can be followed and recreated easily again.

My first set of cards are using the Kimono die set, the Accordion Oval Card die set, the Thank You and Happy Birthday Stand Up Helper dies. These wonderful die sets helped me create the complimenting cards. I chose The Lace & Linen cardstock by DCWV and added some little dragonflies to finish off these soft Asian cards.

Here are the elements.

And here are the finished cards.

As I was looking through all the beautiful Peel-Offs, the Asian signs caught my eyes and just knew I had to create one more card. I chose to create lanterns with these gold signs adding the Thinking of You die to finish the card.

And here is my third card for today using The Tradewinds cardstocks by DCWV

A Flourish Thank You card — Elizabeth Craft Designs

DSCF4129_2

Good morning crafty friends,

Today I would like to share my ‘Thank You’ card with you I create with lots of amazing Elizabeth Craft Designs supplies. I hope you have a nice cup of coffee or tea in your hand so you can sit back and enjoy my tutorial.

This is how you can create this simple yet elegant card:

1. Cut two card bases (front and back) at 6″ wide x 6″ long and secure the Agatha Edges onto the base with washi tape. Die cut one at a time.

DSCF4092_2

2. Repeat each side rotating the two different Agatha Edges for both front and back of our card. Set them aside.

DSCF4093_2

3. For the inside of the card, cut the card base at 4″ wide x 9″ long and score at 4.5″. Adhere the inside layer to the back of the front card base and mark the cut line on the back card base, then trim along the cut mark.

4. Adhere the inside layer to the back of the back card base and test that the card can open and close easily without hitting any other section.

DSCF4110_2

5. Using a darker card base, die cut the Flourish with Flowers, Thank You sentiment and the larger flower of the Crystal Flower set. Using a lighter card base, die cute two circles from the Accordion Circle Card set and the larger flower of the Crystal Flower Overlay Set 2. The little tag will go with a small gift.

Here you see all the die cuts for our card.

6. Adhere the Flourish with Flowers die cuts onto the front of the card base and place foam squares onto the circle die cuts, which will bring the card to a 3-dimensional feeling. Adhere the ‘Thank You’ die cut to the front of the card.

7. Adhere the smaller circle onto the larger circle with foam squares.

8. Adhere both Crystal flower and overlay to complete our card.

As always, I would like to thank you for following my tutorial and I hope that you enjoyed reading it as much as I did creating it.

hugs, Rita

Thank you with Elizabeth Craft Designs

Good morning crafty friends,

What a great Wednesday morning here and today I would like to share my ‘Thank You’ card with you. This is a card I created for my sweet friend Helen. A little while back Helen surprised me with a gorgeous gift and I really wanted to show her my true appreciation.
Since she loves flowers so much, I decided to create a card with flowers that could convey my sincere and heartfelt appreciation.

I hope you have a nice cup of coffee or tea in your hand so you can sit back and enjoy my tutorial.

This is how you can create this lovely card:

1. Cut card base at 6″ wide x 12″ long and score at 6″. Slightly off center, die cut the Garden Bench. Set aside.

DSCF3883_2

2. Using the wooden card stock, die cut 6 wheelbarrows, 1 set of the the gardening tools and 3 umbrella handles. Set them all aside.

3. Using the same card stock as our card base, die cut the umbrella, the bucket, flowers, leaves (reverse side), clouds and boots.

Here you see all the die cuts for our card.

DSCF3888_2

4. For the front of our card, die cut largest label of the Katie Label Pivot Card from the wooden card stock and a smaller label from the flower patterned paper we used for the card base. Die cut the “Thank You” from white card stock.

Here you can see the die cuts for the front of our card.

DSCF3890_2

5. Adhere each of the 6 wheelbarrows together creating a nice 3D effect, then adhere the earlier cut leaves and flowers onto it. Assemble the “Thank You” labels with a soft ribbon in between the two labels. Create an overlay for our garden bench and assemble both rain boots and umbrella. Add Transparent Glitter Dot Peel-offs to each element.

Here you can see all the completed little elements to build our card with.

DSCF3891_2

6. Adhere the bench overlay on top of the bench die cut card base and measure where the wheelbarrow would stand. That is the location our stand up helper will need to be cut.

DSCF3893_2

7. Adhere the “Thank You” frame to the front of the card.

DSCF3907_2

8. Adhere the rest of the elements onto the inside of the card.

DSCF3894_2

As always, I would like to thank you for following my tutorial and I hope that you enjoyed reading it as much as I did creating it.

hugs, Rita
