Lisbeth and Little Bunnies

EDHMC_Lisbeth_Bunnies_ALL_2_4_14

As we’re all waiting for Spring to arrive, our Design Team at Milk N Coffee showcased some lovely new releases today. I absolutely fell in love with Lisbeth and Little Bunnies.

How did I create this card?

This is my 2nd folded card; if you remember, my first one was the Leopard so this time around, I actually created the card base first and then colored the digital image. Before I talk about the card, I’d to give credit to Julie Price who created a folding card earlier this year and inspired me with it. Thank you, Julie! Also, if you’d like to create your own folding card, please visit StampARTic tutorial for complete details, perfect step by step help.

Starting out with a 12 x 12 craft sheet, I used my Martha Stewart Punch Around the Page Scallop 3-dot set —- these are really the best I have found, the set comes with a corner cutter and the straight lines as well, works perfectly each and every time. I also used the set to create the card front as well. To create the rest of the pieces, I completely followed StampARTic’s tutorial. One note about the paper: please get 2-3 extra sheets of different papers. I really love using Recollections semi-metallic paper. Other brands just don’t work well folded… some unfold, some break, some disfigure, all kinds of crazy things so my recommendation is staying with Recollections, Michael’s Craft store brand.

Once the folding card was complete, as my usual routine, I turned to Silhouette Studiothen and outlined Lisbeth and the little bunnies plus created just the little bunny and the carrot basket — please check out my very first tutorial on how to use digital images. And of course, there’s another tutorial on how to work with more complex digital images. Once prints and cuts were complete, I colored the images with Copic markers. Then assembled everything. I used Fancy Pants Parkbench stock paper pack — love that it’s made in US! The ribbon came from Clear Bags, just a wonderful local business I get as many supplies from as possible.

Please remember that I am always happy to personalize the artwork with a name, a quote or a special message, endless options really. Also, colors are always customizable options, after all Copic Markers come in 358 different colors!

Please visit my Etsy Store and  Facebook Page for more ideas and colored images.

I am also posting more detailed photos below, please check them out too.

hugs, Rita

  2. I’ve so enjoyed this card Rita because I remember the amazing leopard card you shared with us recently. I’m absolutely enthralled at how two cards using the same remarkable and memorable fold can be so very individual and different but equally spectacular. To go from showing a wild animal in all his power and majesty to this very sweet and gentle card is contrast indeed That’s got to be tribute to your wonderful colouring skills and the attention to detail in every layer of your creativity. The little bunny is certainly enjoying his basket of delicious carrots inside this card. I think I could do with visiting your little lady’s hair salon ..just look at the sheen of her beautiful hair.

Thank you for sharing this lovely card in our challenge this week. Ingrid xx ( OSAAT Team )

    • Thank you so much for your continuous support of my work and awesome encouragement! Yes, I equally found it interesting how completely different these two cards turned out. I was going to use a different edge punch but decided it’ll be the paper and image only, everything else remain the same and still, totally different. The hair color? Oh, I was going to use all my E40’s and only after I finished coloring realized that I used E74 not E47 (apparently cannot read), which gave a different hue, now my new favorite hair colors 🙂

  3. Beautiful, the folds are amazing and the image so cute, thanks for joining us at Crafty Sentiments and Divas by Design this week. Jac x

  4. Thank you for entering your lovely card at Sweet Stampin’. Unfortunately you are not eligible for our theme this week which is “Love/Valentines”, Sorry. Hope you will have time to enter again with your lovely work. Debbie

  5. Rita….when we checked your card earlier, you had linked to our challenge but stated the theme of “your favourite style” which was our theme last week. I can see you have now amended that just to read “challenge”. Our theme this week is valentines which we don’t think your card is I’m sorry however it is beautiful.

    • Oh, that’s okay, I thought there was something wrong with my card 🙂
Yes, I always copy and paste the challenge list from my last post and had your last challenge name listed. To be safe, I simply place “challenge” in most lists, which I just changed, you’re correct. The link was your main blog, I simply didn’t think that was going to be the problem, thank you for letting me know, I know now 🙂
      hugs, Rita
