Sweet Charlotte

And it’s Thursday again so that means it’s time for our Milk N Coffee inspiration!

Our new theme is Clean and Simple (CAS) and I chose to work with Charlotte with Flowers and Bird as I really loved this little image so much. Once again, thank you for the wonderful image! I absolutely love Charlotte!

Digital Stamp Charlotte with Flower and Bird

Creating a CAS card isn’t as simple as I have hoped… I tried so many different papers when finally chose DCWV’s The Tradewinds Stack — believe it or not but the entire 48 sheets of 12″ x 12″ cardstock was $6 at Jo-Ann Craft Store.

Copics I used:
Skin: E000, E00, E021, E11 and E04
Hair: E41, E42, E44, E74, E47 and E49
Green: G12, G14, G16, G17  and G19
Dress: RV63, RV65 and RV69

And in order to color, I cannot thank Alyce, my friend and teacher enough! I hope you too hop over to Kit & Clowder Coloring Community and sign up for the fantastic classes!

Other supplies I used:
– Zig-Zig Memory System Wink Of Stella Brush Tip Glitter Marker – Glitter
– Sakura 57370 10-Piece Gelly Roll Blister Card Assorted Colors Metallic Gel Ink Pen Set
– Brown ribbon and pearls

Thank you so much for checking out my blog, hugs, Rita

Meet Mr. Cat! — All the fun with Elizabeth Craft Designs

Hello there, friends!

I would like to share my Elizabeth Craft Designs Design Team card today: Hello Mr. Cat!

It’s been a fantastic week here since my best friend Monika came to visit and of course, between some morning coffee, visit to Carmel and afternoon wine tasting, crafting was part of our fun together. She asked me to make a cat card so we picked the peel-off sicker together, the paper, the die sets and then she sat and admired everything I was doing — so very sweet! So let’s see what we created together.

1. Cut a 6″ high by 12″ wide piece of craft paper for base. Also, cut a 5″ high by 12″ wide blue card stock paper and adhere it to the base.

2. Score at half of the width, at 6″ mark and fold.

DSCF2965_2

3. Place the House Pivot Card die over the score mark and make the die cut. This is the first time I’m using the die set myself!

4. Cut 2 pieces of 2″ high by 6″ wide green cardstock if you have a 6″ x 6″ pad (like me) or one 2″ high by 12″ wide and score at 6″.

DSCF2966_2

5. Use your grass shaped Stand Up Helper die to die cut the top of the green cardstock.

DSCF2967_2

6. Use a craft blade to cut the connection points between each grass bunch and adhere the green cardstock to the lower portion of our card base. Set base aside.

DSCF2968_2

7. Die cut the little flowers from the All Seasons Tree die set.

DSCF2970_2

8. Take out your Cats in Frame Peel-Off stickers, Transparent Double Sided Adhesive Sheet and white cardstock.

9. Peel off the release sheet from the Double Sided Adhesive Sheet and adhere the adhesive side to the white cardstock. Peel off the other release sheet and set it to the side.

10. Place one of the cats, a bowl and a mouse from the Cats in Frame Peel-Off stickers facing down (sticky side up) onto the release sheet and place the Double Sided Adhesive Sheet on top.

11. Add Warm Diamond Silk Microfine Glitter over the Double Sided Adhesive Sheet, brush off the extra glitter and rub the surface with your finger.

12. Use your Copic or other alcohol markers to color the surface.

13. Fussy cut around each object and complete the die cuts with the House Pivot Card and All Seasons Tree die sets.

DSCF2971_2

14. Assemble the card with all the elements.

As always, I had a fun time creating this card and just so happy that Monika took my card to our mutual friend in Texas, made with love in California.

Thank you again for stopping by today and I hope you all have a wonderful Memorial Day weekend!

hugs, Rita

Tulips in spring with Elizabeth Craft Designs

Good morning friends!

Sunny California Spring has been so good to us, just so very good! Honestly, I absolutely love Spring! Nature comes alive again, trees are blooming, flowers are coming out and I get to see my garden of gorgeous violets, daffodils and tulips every year.  Since tulips are really my all time favorite flowers, I decided to create a tulip card today. The good news is that I remembered to take some pics along the way so it is now a mini tutorial.

I’m using Elizabeth Craft Designs peel off stickers:

1. Place tulip peel-offs on Neenah cardstock.

DSCF2864_2
2. Color each tulip using your favorite markers or pencils. I used Copic Markers. For my dark pink tulips I used RV63, RV66 and RV 69, for the yellow tulips Y04, Y06, Y08 and E15, and for the leaves YG11, YG61, YG63, YG67 and G99.

3. Fussy cut around each flower.

DSCF2869_2

4. The Peel-Off stickers created an embossed look.

DSCF2872_2

5. Die cut little butterflies and a set of bows from the Yellow and Pink Iridescent Shimmer Sheetz. Please remember to use the metal adaptor plate when die cutting.

DSCF2876_2

6. Cut out two small strips from the same shimmer sheetz and take a quick picture of our curious little cat.

DSCF2877_2

7. Cut a 6″ x 12″ card base, score at 6″ and fold in half.

8. Place all the elements on your work station and test out how you like them together. Once you have a good layout, take a photo that will help you assemble the entire card.

DSCF2882_2

9. Assemble your card by adhering some tulips directly to the card base and some using foam squares for a more dimensional effect.

Thank you so much for taking a look at my card today and hope your Spring weather is kind to you as well!

Hugs, Rita
